Dear all,
I would like to introduce myself. I was known by Hossein’s family as “Amoo Babaei”. Hossein and I had been great friends since 1976. My family and I - my wife Akhtar, my children Laleh, Haleh and Amir, were very lucky to have shared many happy memories with Hossein and his family, It has now been 10 days since devastatingly Hossein left us.
For all the years we knew each other we would talk, mostly everyday, in the mid afternoon. I now catch myself around 2pm, each day waiting for his call to hear his kind voice speaking back to me. It breaks my heart to know this won’t happen but talking to Hossein’s beautiful children, Sepehr and Sahar and his lovely wife, Shokooh, goes a long way to comforting me. His kind family are supporting me when I should be comforting them on their profound loss.
When I first started this page, in memory of Hossein, I originally thought it would be a site that only Hossein’s family and I would look at, but I was wrong. I have received so many wonderful messages from around the world with more notes and photos coming daily, telling me how much Hossein meant to them. This goes to show how loved Hossein was by his colleagues, students, friends and family alike.
I would like to take a moment and thank Hooman, who has helped me to set this page up. As we are receiving many messages and photos daily, we feel that we should engage you more in the process of expanding and improving the website. If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to do this, we will be grateful to have your input. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for all your messages, photos and your beautiful creative art (thank you Fardin for your beautiful Poem and composition). I look forward to receiving more and putting them on this page for us all to remember our good friend Hossein.
With thanks,
R B Mahani (Amoo Babaei)
